ISO certifications
Handicare Stairlifts holds both the ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 certificates. This certification demonstrates that Handicare has effective management systems in place for quality and the environment.
The ISO 14001:2015 certificate relates to the environment, whereas the ISO 9001:2015 certificate is all to do with quality management. The customer and continuous improvement both play central roles in this. This certificate is evidence that we manage our processes effectively, that we strive for increased customer satisfaction and that we strive for continuous improvement.
ISO 9001:2015 quality management
Handicare Stairlifts continuously improves the quality of its products and ensures that legislative and regulatory requirements are met. Handicare also assesses customer requirements.
The ISO 9001:2015 certificate demonstrates that we
- understand our customers' needs and expectations;
- provide adequate resources to be able to meet the needs of our customers;
- supply our stairlifts as agreed;
- continuously monitor that specified requirements are being met and, where necessary, make improvements.
ISO 14001:2015 environmental management
The environment plays an important role at Handicare. We are therefore the first stairlift manufacturer in the sector to achieve ISO 14001:2015 environmental management certification.
Throughout the entire organisation, we recognise that climate change can have long-term implications for our operational management. Our company model plays an important role in guaranteeing an ideal mix of energy sources used, whilst at the same time constantly making our production process more energy-efficient.
How is energy consumption being reduced?
Our operational management is aimed at actively reducing energy consumption throughout the organisation. The construction of our head offices and factory in Heerhugowaard included a range of measures aimed at achieving an emission-neutral site. For example, the premises utilise residual heat to heat the offices and factory. Waste is also segregated diligently. Environmentally-friendly materials are used in production and a range of measures are used to minimise waste.
Our efforts have earned us ISO 14001:2015 certification. We are audited once a year to check that we continue to meet all the criteria, before the certificate is renewed. We have passed the test every time so far!
